What is your dream job? Do you think you’ll ever have it?
Sponsored by Monster.
My dream job involves working with animals. I working on becoming a zookeeper...I'm close but not there yet. I just have to keep applying and hoping somebody is willing to give me a chance. I'll get there eventually.
What’s the hardest part about looking for a new job?

a) Finding one you actually want.
b) Finding one you are actually qualified for.
c) Finding one where they'd actually hire you over all the other qualified candidates.
What does your ideal lifestyle look like 10 years from now?
Presented by Intel, Sponsors of Tomorrow.
Ideally I'd like to be living on a nice ranch with all of the entailing animals (especially horses) and maybe a few exotics (zebra anybody?) with ranch hands and a maid to deal with all the work so I could just enjoy it, a fantastic art room with great lighting, tons of room and storage, and all the supplies I'd ever need. I'd also like for there to be no money worries, neither Mike nor I have to work, a few fantastic kids, and perhaps and vintage muscle car in the driveway (mmm, I love old Mustangs). And hell, as long as I'm fantasizing, let's throw in a genetically engineered dragon for my personal transport.
Ok, fantasy over....my realistic ideal lifestyle would be to have no debt (or at least to have it very much under control and being paid off quickly), a nice chunk of money in savings, a couple of fantastic kids, a house, being able to go on some nice vacations (like bed&breakfast getaways travelling across Europe), and a well-paying job I love doing.
I really just want me and my family to be happy and secure.
If you had one day to spend $100,000 - and you had to spend it totally selfishly - what would you buy?
First I'd pay off all our debt, then I'd buy a new car and put a down payment on a house and pack any remaining into a savings account. I know these probably are not what would be thought of as 'selfish' purchases, but I want to start a family and these are good things to do before that happens!
What's the best compliment you've received lately?
The education coordinator told me I'm doing a great job today at work. :) I've started working with the junior zookeeper kids (11-15 yr olds) for their summer program.
Did I miss something? I know that the Vox Hunt is gone but when did the QotD/W disappear from all the "Explore Vox" sections? I used to like perusing the Culture and Life questions especially. What happened to them?
Do you have or use a home phone? How often?
I do have a home phone and it's my primary phone. Actually, it's my only phone...I don't own a cell phone. I honestly don't know another person who doesn't have a cell. I don't need one, I didn't use the last one I did have, and it's much cheaper to be cell-less.
I know, I'm weird...
Which hobby do you wish you had the time for?
I wish had more time for ceramics/sculpting. I really miss it. It isn't one of those things you can just set aside for long periods of time though. If you start a project you need to finish it or it'll be ruined! (or at least will be a whole lot harder to complete!)
(I wish I had the money for it too - local equipment rental fee is $100/mo which seems like a lot but the equipment would be well over $1000 to buy. So for the price of a one year membership to this ceramic studio I could buy all my own supplies so I feel it's a waste to get the membership. But I can't afford to buy everything up front to set up my own studio...it's a nasty little catch 22. I'm going to see about just renting some kiln space there and see how that goes.)
Imagine that it's cold and snowy outside (won't be much of a stretch for some of you)... What are you craving for dinner?
A homemade, warm, filling, savory soup and some fresh bread! Mmmmm.... creamy potato leek, beef stew, chicken noodle with wholewheat beer bread or sourdough or french bread.... The perfect thing for a cold winter day!
After 26 years, a very persistent man finally solved the Rubik's cube that had been keeping him up at night and home from important events. Have you ever solved a Rubik's cube? What's the toughest puzzle you have solved in your lifetime? How long did it take?
That is a very persistent man! I've never really tried other than when I was a little kid and would always get stuck with one side solid and all the other sides messed up. Then I'd commit the worst of Rubik's Cube sins - take off all the stickers and put them back on so all the sides were solid.
